We made the front page!

Villa Mathilde garden featured in Maisons et Decors!

This April, we made the front cover of this popular French title – with four pages of photographs and text showcasing the beautiful garden designed for us by Jean-Baptiste Cavatore, of Terres Mediterraneenes.

Jean-Baptiste sources his trees, cacti and plants from all around the world and we have colour and blooms of some sort all the year round!  Our terraces and gardens are designed to merge with the hillside. This is enhanced by inspired landscaping. Cacti and other plants from around the world thrive here in our rich hillside soil. Lights have been installed throughout the gardens of the property to enhance the lovely flora and fauna.

This shows the newly re-sodded lawn, and the garden, leading off of the guest bedroom portico
The middle terrace extends the full length of the property, creating various spaces for outdoor seating. You’ll find an inviting Gloster outdoor sofa and armchairs and eight really comfortable Gloster sunloungers, plus an outdoor dining table for up to 10…and large umbrellas to move to where you need to have some shade. And then there is the generous teak deck at the west end of our 12m x 4m infinity pool. An ideal place to relax quietly, view the house and surrounding hills and valley below, whilst savouring the cool gentle afternoon breezes.

Returning to the practical, you’ll be glad that our property is on a private gated domaine – it is both safe and secure. Access to the property is via electrically operated gates with garage parking for two cars at the bottom of the drive – there are plenty of spaces for parking at street level on this quiet access road.

With all this to keep you rooted here, it’s hard to imagine climbing back into your vehicle to venture off of the property. But this is Provence, and there is simply too much to keep you homebound for long .
